British LibraryThe Silk Road - Trade, Travel, War and Faith’
(7 May to 12 September 2004)

The exhibition, staged in collaboration with the British Museum, featured priceless and rarely seen Silk Road treasures from archaeologist and explorer Aurel Stein's collection – one of the richest in the globe – displayed alongside pieces from their own collection. Public relations activities for this project included attracting widespread coverage of the exhibition, curator and associated BL events and publications in the national, international and local press, on radio and TV – both before the opening and during the lifetime of the exhibition. Coverage included a mix of news and feature article, photo stories, radio and TV interviews. The exhibition attracted over 154,796 people which was 8,106 more than Lindisfarne Gospels, the previous record holder.

The Sage Gateshead
(January - December 2004)

The objective of the campaign was to work with the in-house press and marketing team to launch the year's programme of performance and education events and activities. We worked with teachers and outreach workers to find ways of publicising workshops and performances in schools all the while ensuring that the coverage reflected the breadth and depth of music education programme emanating from The Sage Gateshead. We sold in a number of stories to the education and society pages on the work of Northern Sinfonia, Folkworks and music north. We also worked with the in-house team to identity and develop media-friendly projects with articles appearing in key education and music press as well as coverage on radio and television.

Newham Millennium Celebrations
(1999-2000)

This was a year-long programme of events planned to celebrate the New Millennium, including a party and firework display, a major photographic billboard project, the anniversary of Bow Porcelain, Future Perfect, East London Mela, Festival of Youth Culture and a training programme which aimed to create new artistic opportunities in the borough. We were appointed by the producer of NMC to secure coverage for all events and projects in the local and national press, consumer, education and ethnic press. We also worked on community-based PR campaigns. Our PR campaign raised the profile of NMC in London, nationally and internationally. Photos of NMC's fireworks display, against a backdrop of the Dome, was featured in many national broadsheet newspapers for the first week of the new millennium and helped to secure the involvement of several high-profile people such as David Bailey and Hugh Scully. We continue to work with the NMC producer on other projects, most recently the London-wide John Berger Retrospective.
